Wee Readers Story Time

“Wee Readers Story Time” meets on Thursday mornings, from 10:00-10:30 AM. Preschoolers 2 yrs & older enjoy a story, song & dance, games and more! March themes are: March 3  – “Mittens”, March 10 –  No Story Time, March 17 – “Green/St. Patrick’s Day”, March 24 – No Story Time, March 31 – “Wind”.

Adult Coloring Club

Calling all adults! Need a little relaxation and conversation? We are doing an Adult Coloring Club every Friday, from  4 – 5 pm! The library will provide coloring sheets and markers for you to use. Feel free to bring anything else you need.

Reading Redbirds Youth Book Club

This book club for 4th-8th graders will meet on the first and third Monday in March, from 3:45 PM – 4:45 PM. The girls and boys in this club enjoy planning/assisting with library events and talking about their favorite books!

Teen Volunteer Tuesday

Earn community service hours and valuable volunteer experience that will look good on your resume. Tasks may include cleaning, shelving books, helping to create new book displays, as well as providing feedback and suggestions for teen programming. Every Tuesday after school.

Adult Book Club

Adult Book Club meets on the second Thursday of every month, from 10:30 am – 11:30 am. This month we are reading “The Kitchen House,” by Kathleen Grissom.

If you would like to read it with us, come to the library to get a copy of the book or check out the eBook on Library on the Go: http://www.libraryonthego.org/. Feel free to join us on March 10th even if you want to talk about another book you’ve read.

Learn to Draw: A Dragon or Dinosaur!

Have you ever wanted to learn how to draw something really cool, but thought it was probably too complicated or you weren’t artistic? Well join us at the library on Tuesday, March 15, from 4:00 – 5:00 PM to find out how easy it can be to draw, using simple shapes. During this lesson we will be learning to draw awesome dragons and dinosaurs!

FREE Blood Pressure Checks/White Elephant Bingo

FREE Blood Pressure Checks will be offered by the Moultrie County Health Department. This will be offered on Friday, March 18, from 12:25 – 1:15 PM. Then Adult White Elephant BINGO will be played from 1:00 PM-3:00 PM. Be sure to bring a White Elephant Prize for the prize table!white elephant bingo march

LEGO Club

Youth in grades K-8th should bring their own LEGOs and/or LEGO creations to the library and have fun building with friends, on Friday, March 18, from 4-5 PM. They are also invited to loan us their LEGO creations for a display at the library!

Library Easter Dessert Silent Auction

Have a sweet tooth? The Lovington Public Library will be holding an Easter Dessert Silent Auction to raise funds for essential library programming, such as Summer Reading. Bidding opens on Friday, March 18th, at 10 AM, and ends on Thursday, March 24th, at 1 PM. To bid, come in to the library to see photos of the delicious desserts being auctioned off and place your bid. Winners will be notified on March 24th, after bidding has closed, and will be able to pick up their desserts on Saturday, March 26, from 10:30 am – 1 pm.

LinkedIn for Job Seekers and Professionals

Learn how to use the social network for professionals: LinkedIn! Class will be held on Tuesday, March 22, from 4:30 – 5:30 PM.  Helpful information to bring: your email address (you will need it to verify your LinkedIn account), work history, education history, and a list of any volunteering you have done. Please come in to the library to register or call us at (217)873-4468. There are six seats available in this class.

Adults Who Read YA Book Club

Calling all young adult literature reading adults! Come join us for a book club on Monday, March 28, from 6 – 7 PM. If you dig the magical world of Harry Potter, the romance and dystopia of The Selection series, the action of the Maze Runner series and so many more, we would love to sit, chill and talk about books with you!
